The Capitol rebels were expected, you could even say they were welcomed with open arms. They had to enter the building, the meeting rooms, the politicians’ offices. And so practically no one resisted them. Absolutely everything was allowed — even to pose in the place of the speakers, or to grab some souvenir. Absolutely no one bothered them.
It was all a farce and a production, the directors used the actors in the dark. But protesters against Trump were effectively invited to enter the Capitol building. For all their wild appearance, they certainly posed no threat. For four days now I have been trying to make sense of the cheap theater on the Capitol stage, which floods the whole world, but it’s such nonsense how to make sense of it… I just decided that my favorite mass media have reached the apogee of lies and they take that to surpass .
We don’t watch TV in our country, but the Internet is enough for twenty TV stations, so on January 6 my screens were flooded with protests. On the one hand — non-media — photos of hundreds of thousands of people peacefully occupying the huge areas in front of the Capitol. On the other hand — media — photos of five people in carnival costumes posing in front of photographers in the federal building, shortly after they “took over” it with a burglary. I looked to the left, I looked to the right and I said to myself that if the protests are so one-sided, then the work is not clean.
Then, the next day, hysteria began. Impeachment, betrayal, the president is mentally ill, instills violence, everyone is an extremist, the country is on fire. Lie, I wonder what happened to her. I went to check, but nothing. There were no fires, no overturned cars, the president called for calm, but the message was censored five minutes later. Set photos of two or three in the Capitol — but nice, professional photos with the right angle — and not a single post about how these people broke into a heavily guarded building and went to search the (unlocked) offices of senior figures. Vague information about the wounded and dead, but without details, at the expense of lavish articles addressed to the “attackers”, to a fan of forbidden conspiracies, as well as abnormal, and losers. A farce and an insult to any functioning intellect.
